Ecuador and Israel offer such diverse festival experiences. In Ecuador, Inti Raymi, the Festival of the Sun, sounds incredible. I imagine the vibrant colors, energy, and traditional dances under the Andean sky. And Carnaval, with its massive water fight and foam, sounds exhilarating!
Water fights might be less a cultural event and more a playful excuse to get soaked, but it's certainly vibrant. Israel's Purim festival has a similar carnival atmosphere, with costumes and parades, particularly in Tel Aviv. I've also seen pictures of Yom Ha'atzmaut, Independence Day, where barbecues pop up everywhere. The entire country must smell of grilled meat and patriotic enthusiasm.
Purim sounds fabulous, with all the dressing up. The Jerusalem Light Festival also appeals to me; walking through ancient streets illuminated by incredible art sounds magical. Ecuador also has its Mama Negra Festival, a beautiful blend of cultures—a true mosaic of joy and tradition.
An avocado costume for Purim, Mira? Intriguing.
