Welcome back to the show, Leo. You seem to need a spa day, or seventeen. What happened?
Seventeen seems optimistic, considering my current state of being. But speaking of relaxation, today we're comparing spa, healthy living, and relaxation opportunities in Canada and Japan.
Canada first. When I think of Canadian relaxation, I picture mountains, lakes, silent forests… maybe a moose sighting?
You might encounter a moose, but Canada offers incredible natural beauty. Remote lodges, cabins by lakes… Mineral hot springs, especially in the west, are perfect for soaking in warm water surrounded by snow. It's incredibly relaxing.
The vastness, the quiet… sounds perfect. I bet they have amazing places for forest bathing.
They definitely embrace outdoor wellness. Hiking, kayaking, skiing… it's all part of the lifestyle. You'll find yoga retreats and farm-to-table experiences. It's about connecting with nature.
Now, let's talk Japan. Onsen, those hot springs… what's it like?
It's a cultural experience. Onsen bathing is ancient, about cleansing, relaxation, and community. You wash thoroughly before entering. They also have Sento, public bathhouses, for daily use.
That's built into their routine, not just a weekend thing. Japan also has forest bathing, Shinrin-yoku.
Shinrin-yoku is about slowing down, lowering stress hormones. It's scientifically proven. Japan also has incredibly healthy food. The whole culture encourages mindful living.
So Canada has the wild escape, and Japan has ritual and mindful practice. For me, I think I need the structure of the Onsen.
My brain needs a complete reset. Canada might be too much open space; Japan's precision might be more effective.
Both offer something valuable. If you're planning a relaxing trip, both are excellent choices. Sites like jetoff'ai help filter for places with spas or hot springs.
Absolutely. jetoff'ai is great for specifics. Check out our YouTube channel for clips and behind-the-scenes moments. Let us know what kind of relaxation you prefer – Team Canada wilderness or Team Japan Onsen?
Whether you escape to Canada's vastness or Japan's ancient rituals, remember to switch off. Finding those moments of peace is essential.
Maybe I'll start with a coffee and a short walk… my version of forest bathing: Concreteyoku.
I love it! That brings us to the end. Hope you feel a little more relaxed.
